Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 10:- The 124th and 125th buses from the Mohali Assembly constituency were flagged off today for Sri Amritsar Sahib under the ‘Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana’ being run under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The buses were flagged off from villages Saidpur and Rurka under the supervision of MLA Kulwant Singh.
On this occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that senior citizens are showing tremendous enthusiasm for the pilgrimage, which is a symbol of the success of the scheme. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had taken a personal interest in launching the scheme, keeping in view the faith and devotion of the elderly people of the state.
He said that besides Sri Amritsar Sahib, groups of pilgrims are also departing daily for various religious places including Khatu Shyam, Haridwar, Mathura and Vrindavan. He said that a group of women is also part of today’s pilgrimage.
The MLA said that along with fulfilling the promises made to the people, the Punjab Government is continuously making efforts to connect the youth with sports and education. Under the fourth season of ‘Khedan Vatan Punjab Dian’, players aged between 14 and 70 years are participating. At the same time, sports stadiums and libraries are being established across the state so that the youth can be kept away from drugs and connected with constructive activities.
Extending his best wishes to all the devotees travelling to Sri Amritsar Sahib, he said that he prayed to God that all the wishes with which the devotees are visiting the holy land may be fulfilled. He also thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for continuing the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana.
On this occasion, the scheme’s constituency coordinator and State Awardee Phoolraj Singh, Mohali Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Harpal Singh Channa, Harmesh Singh Kumbhra, Captain Gulzar Singh, Malkit Kaur, wife of Gurjit Singh Saidpur, Harnek Singh, Hardeep Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Navpreet Singh, Jaspal Singh, Kirandeep Kaur, wife of Harjit Singh Rurka, Harkamaljit Singh Numberdar, Karamjit Singh Saini, BC President Mann, Baljit Singh Happy and Pragat Singh, among other dignitaries, were present.
