Maur Mandi (Paigam-E-Jagat), September 23:- A truck full of devotees going from Maur Mandi to Chamunda Ji Temple collided with a bus and overturned near Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan at Dhaliyara in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh this morning. According to the information received, the truck was going from Maur Mandi to Chamunda Ji Temple when the truck collided with a bus coming from Dharamshala towards Hoshiarpur.
After the collision, the bus driver tried to speed away the bus, during which some devotees jumped out of the moving truck due to fear. The truck lost control and overturned near Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan Dhaliyara a short distance away.
Two people have died in this accident and more than 20 people have been injured. The accident victims were going to set up langar at Chamunda Ji, out of which six have been referred to Tanda Medical College due to their serious condition, while the rest are undergoing treatment at a government hospital.
The devotees had kept more than a dozen gas cylinders with the langar equipment, if the cylinders had exploded, the accident would have been even more terrible. A wave of mourning swept the city after the news of the accident was heard. Religious institutions and political leaders have expressed deep grief over the accident.
