Today, on 22 April 2024, a special lecture on Ambedkar Vision of Education was organized by the Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Dr. Prashant Ingole of 'Indian Institute of Science and Research, Mohali' was the keynote speaker. At the beginning of the program, Head of the Department, Professor Satwinderpal Kaur informed everyone about the keynote speaker.
Today, on 22 April 2024, a special lecture on Ambedkar Vision of Education was organized by the Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Dr. Prashant Ingole of 'Indian Institute of Science and Research, Mohali' was the keynote speaker. At the beginning of the program, Head of the Department, Professor Satwinderpal Kaur informed everyone about the keynote speaker. Ingole ji started the lecture with Ambedkar ji's school days in which he told how he faced discrimination. Prashant ji told that Baba Saheb was the first Indian to do doctorate in economics from Columbia University. His gurus Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Gautam Buddha and Mahatma Kabir left a deep impression on Ambedkar ji's life and he was inspired by them to contribute in the field of education. Whatever participation there is in women's education today, Jyotiba ji and Ambedkar ji have played a major role in it. Ingole ji told that at present, students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are being discriminated against in higher educational institutions. In this context, Ingole ji told that Ambedkar ji opened various educational institutions and he was always a supporter of women empowerment and women's rights. Besides, the ideas of John Dewey also had a deep influence on Ambedkar ji. In the end, Ingole ji concluded the lecture by saying that education is the only means by which we can become socially and morally competent. At the end of the program, Head of the Department, Professor Satwinderpal Kaur thanked the keynote speaker by giving memento and inspired the researchers to organize more such programs in future.
