The District Magistrate issued an order to keep meat shops and slaughterhouses closed in the district on the occasion of Lord Mahavir Jayanti on April 21.
Nawanshahr- District Magistrate Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa using the powers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act-2 of 1974) on the occasion of Lord Mahavir Jayanti on 21 April 2024 within the limits of district Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. An order has been issued to keep meat shops and slaughterhouses closed.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar will be responsible for implementing this order.
