Patiala, April 16 - General Manager of PRTC Patiala Depot Amanveer Singh Tiwana has refuted the opposition of a journalist recently calling the parking fee charged at the cycle stand of PRTC a gangster tax. That two-wheeler parking in the station was started from March 13 as per the demand of the people and the approval of the competent authorities. The parking fee collected from the parking is deposited in the cash branch of the department.
The receipt of the parking slip number 39641 printed in the published news and the resulting cash was also deposited at the spot by the slip cutter, who is an employee of PRTC, along with the rest of the parking receipts in the cash branch as usual. The record of which is available with the department. Terming the news as "false and baseless", the General Manager has said that the concerned department has been written to take appropriate action. He appealed to the journalists that if they have any questions or need any information regarding the department or the old bus stand, they should contact the concerned officials of the department so that people can get correct information.
