Nawanshahr - Doaba Sahitya Sabha, active for literary activities in Doaba region, organized its annual literary honor ceremony by registered Garhshankar and under the leadership of Kavi Darbar Sabha President Principal Dr Bikar Singh at local Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar. Members of active literary societies Punjab Sahitya Sabha Nawanshahr, Darpan Sahitya Sabha Sela Khurd and Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Mahilpur, poets and literature lovers from across the region participated in this event.
The function was started by lighting the candle by the President of the Sabha, Principal Bikar Singh, and the guests and poets were welcomed. Professor Sandhu Varyanvi General Secretary Central Punjabi Writers' Sabha Sekhon Principal Bikar Singh President Doaba Sahitya Sabha Registered Garshankar, Resham Chitrakar President Darpana Sahitya Sabha Sela Khurd, Principal Gurjant Singh Secretary Central Punjabi Writers' Sabha Sekhon joined the presidency. During the event, Eh Nisani Volume 25 and Volume 26 of Gursikhi composed by Sardar Santokh Singh Veerji was presented to the public. Gunga Saaz, a collection of essays composed by Amrik Hamraz, was also released during this event. Major Singh Mauji Memorial Award to Gurdeep Singh Mukadam, Sujan Singh Memorial Award to eminent novelist Dr. Meet Khatra, Ustad Ulfat Bajwa Memorial Award to Jagdish Rana and members of the local Sahitya Sabha are awarded annually by the Sabha for outstanding contribution to Punjabi literature. Special honors were given to Santokh Singh Veer, a senior member of the council and patron. Joga Singh Bhamian, Om Prakash Jakhmi, Ranveer Babbar, Hansraj, Vijay Bhatti, Pawan Bhamian, Santokh Singh Veerji, Sohan Singh Suni, District President of Des Raj Bali District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Central Punjabi Writers' Sabha Sekhon, Satpal Sahlon in Kavi Darbar. Tara Singh Chera Krishna Garhshankari, Sarwan Sidhu, Taranjit Gogo, Banarsi Rattewal, Amrik Hamraj, Malkit Khatra, Jagdish Rana, Gurdeep Singh Mukaddam, Pawan Bhammian, Joginder Kullewal Darshan Mattu, Principal Gurjant Singh, Tarsem Saki, Ranjit Posey, Sham Sunder, Sabi Pakhowal, Avtar Singh Pakhowal Jasveer Begampuri, Manager Bhajan Singh, Chief Manager Hardev Roy, Retired Tehsildar Harilal Nafri, Sandhu Varyanvi Baljinder Mann joined. Santokh Singh Veerji and Pawan Kumar Bhammian conducted the stage of this Kavi Darbar.
