
380 karate players participated in the second India Akai Open Karate Championship-Walia.
Hoshiarpur- The second India Akai Open Karate Championship was organized by Amateur Karate Do Association (Registered) India on 27 July 2025 at Mandi Janj Ghar near Masjid Chowk Kapurthala under the leadership of Managing Secretary Gagandeep Kaur and Sensai and Technical Director Naveen Kumar. 380 karate players from different districts, states, clubs and academies participated enthusiastically in this championship and performed well.

The championship was inaugurated by Rajiv Walia, President of Youth Sports Welfare Board and Amateur Karate Do Association (Registered) India and while encouraging the karate players participating in the championship, he said that they should keep moving forward in such sports and said that karate is a martial art technique.
Self-defense techniques are essential for today's youth. He said that sports have special importance in the lives of girl students. Many students get high positions on the basis of sports. Students are the youth of the country, they become disciplined, healthy and can easily face any situation through sports activities. Sports are very important for life, apart from education, interest in sports is also very important.
He requested all educational institutions to explain the importance of sports to the girl students and organize sports. Surinder Mohan Sharma, Sanket Gupta, Darshan Singh (PCR incharge) arrived as the chief guests in this championship to bless the players. He honored all the winning players with medals and certificates and wished all the players. President Rajiv Walia, Naveen Kumar and all the members of their team thanked the chief guests and all the coaches by giving mementos.
On this occasion, Jaspal Singh Panesar, Roshan Lal Sabharwal, Rajinder Kumar, Rajdeep Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Sensai Yogesh Kumar (Batala), Sensai Davinder Pal (Phagwara), Sensai Tajinder Pal Singh (Hoshiarpur), Sensai Rahul (Gurdaspur), Sensai Vinod Kumar (Pathankot), Ramjit Singh Lakhana (Pathankot), S. (Nakodar), Sensai Rakesh Roshan (Jalandhar), Sensai Usha Rani (Nawanshahr), Sensai Mohit (Chandigarh), Sensai Sam (Bhogpur), Sensai Amrit Pal Singh (Batala), Sensai Sonam Gupta (Pathankot), Coach Lovepreet Singh, Coach Harpreet Kaur, Coach Harpreet Kaur were present.
