He said that more and more people in the district should be motivated and encouraged to take advantage of the loan schemes of various banks so that along with making them self-reliant, the loan-deposit ratio of the district can also be improved. He instructed all the banks to educate the general public and farmers about other schemes including Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana through financial literacy camps. The Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the achievements of banks under the Annual Loan Scheme and directed to take all necessary steps to improve the achievements of the primary sector and increase the deposit-credit ratio.
Earlier in the meeting, while reviewing the achievements of the banks in comparison to the targets in the third quarter, Punjab National Bank Chief Manager Yuvraj Anand said that the banks of the district had provided loans of Rs 1970.30 crore against the annual target of loans of Rs 2401.56 crore by December 2023. Distributed. The deposits of banks have increased to Rs 13621.03 crore, which has increased at the annual rate of 11.59 percent, while the loans have increased at the rate of 11.34 percent to Rs 4112.34 crore. As a result, the credit deposit ratio of the district has increased to 30.19 percent in the year. He said that all banks need to make more efforts to improve the credit deposit ratio. The Chief Manager said that banks in the district have distributed 66,096 agricultural cards to farmers till December 31, 2023, whereas in the December quarter, banks have distributed 12,00 agricultural cards to farmers. The agricultural loan of banks is Rs 784.95 crore which is 19.09 percent of the total loans.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal released the booklet of loan distribution target of Rs 2431.43 crore proposed by banks for the year 2024-25 in Una district and approved the proposed loan distribution target. Deputy Commissioner Una said that in the year 2024-25, a total of loans worth Rs 2431.43 crore will be distributed by banks in various sectors, agriculture, industry, other priority and non-priority sectors. He said that this includes Rs 948.70 crore in agriculture sector, Rs 900 crore in industry. Loans worth Rs. crore, Rs. 398 crore will be distributed in other priority sector and Rs. 184.30 crore in non-priority sector.
Chief District Leading Bank Manager Gurcharan Bhatti requested the banks to timely achieve the targets set under the Annual Loan Scheme so that the economic needs of the people can be met.
