Chief Minister pays tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan.

Nawanshahr- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today paid tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary and said that in the coming months, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Heritage Complex will be dedicated to the state at the native village of the great martyr.

The Chief Minister also dedicated the 100 feet high tricolor flag installed in the museum on Shaheed-e-Azam’s birth anniversary to the people. He said that this 30 x 20 feet size national flag is part of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Heritage Complex; which will further enhance the dignity and respect of this place revered by all. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the work of this complex is going on in full swing, which will be completed very soon.
He said that this complex, being built at a cost of Rs. 51.70 crore, is a humble tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam. He stressed that the complex will not just be a monument but a unique experience as it will give tourists an opportunity to get to know the great sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh for the motherland, his deep insight and sense of courage up close.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the monument will have a grand thematic gate, a 350-metre long heritage corridor connecting the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum with his ancestral home, which will depict the essence of colonial-era India by narrating the life of Shaheed-e-Azam and India's freedom struggle through sculpture, 2D/3D wall art.
He said that it will also have a 700-seat fully air-conditioned auditorium and a model of Shaheed Bhagat Singh's ancestral home in Lyallpur (now in Pakistan) is also being built. Along with this, a glimpse of his ancestral village will be beautifully presented in the heritage street.
Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is the duty of the state government to uphold the legacy of the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
