Punjab State Food Commission Chairman Bal Mukand Sharma, Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Uma Shankar Gupta and Additional Deputy Commissioner Harjinder Singh were specially present in this special event. Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada (Punjab Unit) Vice President Sarwan Singh (Chairman, Saint Warriors School, Qadian) and President Mukesh Verma played an important role in organizing this conference and felicitation ceremony. Their efforts gave a message to bring world famous Punjabi writers, linguists and personalities together under one roof.
During the Awaz Conference for the Preservation of Punjabi Language and Literature, Punjabi literary organizations from all over the world discussed their role and efforts. The leading figures described the contribution of overseas Punjabis in the preservation and promotion of Punjabi literature, language, and folklore as important.

Deputy Commissioner Uma Shankar Gupta shared her views on the importance of Punjabi language and literature and emphasized the need to connect the coming generations with Punjabi. Additional Deputy Commissioner Harjinder Singh said that we should make joint efforts to keep our original cultural heritage alive.
