Una, January 23. Under the road safety campaign, an awareness camp was organized on Thursday at Him Gaurav ITI Santoshgarh under the joint aegis of Nehru Yuva Kendra Una and Regional Transport Department. The camp was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Una, Jatin Lal. During this, Nehru Yuva Kendra Una and General Manager of Him Gaurav ITI, Sanjay Joshi honored the Deputy Commissioner by giving him a bark cap and a memento. In the awareness camp, children were made aware about the importance of following road safety rules through street plays.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner called upon everyone to follow road safety rules. He said that ignoring road safety rules, driving at excessive speed and careless overtaking cause many accidents. To improve this, we all have to understand our responsibility.
He taught the ITI students to drive carefully by staying away from intoxication. He also called upon them to come forward and help the injured in road accidents. He informed that a scheme called Good Smartians has been started with the objective of motivating people to help the injured in road accidents. Under this scheme, people who try to save the life of a road accident victim by taking him to the hospital in the golden hour within the first hour of the accident are given a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 5000. The objective of this scheme of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is to encourage people to help the injured in road accidents and reduce the number of deaths in accidents.
On this occasion, Regional Manager Ashok Kumar and District Coordinator of NYK Una Pradeep Kumar gave detailed information about road safety rules to the youth.
During the camp, on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, which is being celebrated as Parakram Diwas, tributes were paid by remembering his life and sacrifice.
In the camp, the trainees of Him Gaurav ITI participated enthusiastically in speech competition on road safety rules, poster making and quiz competitions. The participants who topped the competitions were also awarded.
On this occasion, Principal of Him Gaurav ITI, Engineer Annaya Joshi, Manager Ranveer Singh, Group Instructor Mukesh Kumar, Instructor Naveen and all ITI staff were present.
