Discussion on the 154th birth anniversary of Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna in Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall

Jalandhar - On the occasion of the 154th birth anniversary of Ghadar Party founder Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna, the Desh Bhagat Commemoration Committee held a serious discussion about his lifelong, inspiring revolutionary life journey and our duties. Addressing this discussion, Assistant Secretary of Desh Bhagat Memorial Committee Charanji Lal Kanganiwal shared valuable things in the light of historical facts. He asked them to keep the message of keeping Ghadar Party as the cornerstone, create an exemplary history, and continue the struggle to bring about the spring of freedom.

Gurmeet Singh, the former general secretary of the committee, said that there is hardly any university in the world, where research is not being done on the history of Ghadri patriots and Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna. He insisted on fulfilling his duties keeping in view the needs and challenges of the present day.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh Bilga said that there is a need for continuation of such discussions and more attendance.
The finance secretary of the committee, Sital Singh Sangha, raised the need to connect the young generation with the life of Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna.
Committee member Surinder Kumari Kochhar shared the memories of Baba Bhakna ji with reference to his father former General Secretary Gandharva Sen Kochhar.
Amolak Singh, convener of the cultural wing, said that the birthday of Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna is actually a symbol of the birthday of a society based on freedom, secularism, commonality and equality. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen the embrace of the patriotic commemoration committee and people. He said that in this regard, everyone is requested to join the meeting being held on January 6 at the Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall.
Committee President Ajmer Singh said that even after 1947, many Ghadris, including Baba Sohan Singh Bhakna, had been imprisoned in dungeons for long periods of time and had said, "O motherland! We could not break the chains of your slavery, but each of our comrades will keep the flag of the struggle aloft until the end".
He said that Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall is not the name of a building, it is a beacon to keep the torch of Ghadar history burning, we need to contribute to it.
