Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal informed that 'Soch' (Environmental Treatment and Conservation Society) is a non-profit organization. which is working to conserve natural resources and reconnect people with nature. This organization has been organizing environmental conservation fairs for the last two years Through which awareness is being created among the people about the conservation of natural resources. He said that 10 awards will be given to Gram Panchayats, NGOs, individual people, students etc. who have done commendable work in various fields in this environmental conservation fair. Giving detailed information about the awards, he said that the first award with a prize money of one lakh 'Puratan Jhri Award' will be given to that panchayat or institution of Punjab which has preserved the ancient jhri in its natural form for at least 100 years. . The second 'Jithe Safai Atar Khudai' award with a prize money of 75 thousand rupees will be given to the Gram Panchayat/Institution of Punjab, which has kept its streets, ponds, public places etc. clean while keeping its village close to nature. . The third award with a prize money of 50,000 will be given to the hardworking person/persons who are making a significant contribution to the protection, care and rescue of wild life in Punjab. The fourth award will be the 'Organic Farming Award' worth Rs 50,000. This award will be given to the nature-minded farmer of Punjab, who, considering the earth as mother, will neither set fire to the land nor burn it. He will be using chemical farming methods.
