Patiala, November 4 - The Government Senior Secondary Girls Smart School at Sanur in Patiala district has become the first fully air-conditioned government school in Punjab. On the initiative of Constituency MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, NRIs Surinder Singh Nijjar UK 23 ACs installed at a cost of about 1 crore rupees and the solar panel system installed for running them was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan's wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra cut the ribbon. On this occasion, he also inaugurated the skill development fair organized today under the business blaster scheme at this school. Simarjeet Kaur Pathanamajra and Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni were also present with them.
On this occasion Dr. Gurpreet Kaur praised the initiative of MLA Pathan Majra and said that due to the special priority given to education by the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the skills of the students of government schools are being improved. He said that an example of this is in front of everyone today in the skill fair organized under Business Blaster in this school of Sanur.

MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra announced that Sanur Constituency will become the first Constituency where all government schools will be made AC. He said that in view of the special priority given to education by the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, our government schools are now giving better results than private schools. He said that this is the first time that the Chief Minister has released grants of Rs 25.55 crore to government schools in Sanur constituency.
