
Request Submitted to SGPC for Permission to Hold Shiromani Akali Dal Presidential Election at Teja Singh Samundri Hall General Session Scheduled for August 11
Sri Amritsar Sahib: In the concluding phase of the Shiromani Akali Dal reorganization movement, and in accordance with the historic Hukamnama issued from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 2, 2024, a formal request has been submitted today to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) seeking permission to hold the General Session at the historic Teja Singh Samundri Hall on August 11 for the election of the party president.
Sri Amritsar Sahib: In the concluding phase of the Shiromani Akali Dal reorganization movement, and in accordance with the historic Hukamnama issued from Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 2, 2024, a formal request has been submitted today to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) seeking permission to hold the General Session at the historic Teja Singh Samundri Hall on August 11 for the election of the party president.
The application was submitted by Bibi Satwant Kaur on behalf of the Bharti Committee and has been officially received under receipt number 23175 by the SGPC office. Committee members including Sardar Manpreet Singh Ayali, Jathedar Gurpratap Singh Wadala, Jathedar Iqbal Singh Jhunda, and Jathedar Santa Singh Umaidpuri extended special thanks to SGPC President Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami for the support.
The committee also stated that as per tradition and SGPC's administrative requirements, the prescribed donation for hall usage will be duly submitted as done in previous general sessions.
In a joint statement, the Bharti Committee expressed satisfaction over having faithfully fulfilled the service assigned on December 2 in the best interest of the Panth, community, and Punjab. They affirmed that the election of the Shiromani Akali Dal President will be conducted as per full religious and procedural protocol on August 11 in the presence of the sangat.
Those present at the submission of the request included Sardar Jasbir Singh Ghumman, Sardar Gurlal Singh, Sardar Daljinder Bir Singh Virk, Sardar Surinder Singh Doblia, and Sardar Narinder Singh Bhatia.
