SAS Nagar, October 17 - Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor S. Kuljit Singh Bedi has been formally reinstated in Congress today. Punjab Congress President Shri Captain Amarinder Singh Raja Waring formally re-inducted Kuljit Singh Bedi into the party by donning a gamchha with the Congress party symbol at the Punjab Congress Bhawan in Chandigarh today.
It is noteworthy here that last year, when the Sidhu brothers had left the Congress Party and joined the BJP, during the cycle of events, after Mr. Bedi's decision to support Mayor Jiti Sidhu in the Municipal Corporation, Senior Deputy Mayor S. Amrik Singh Somal and Deputy Mayor S. Kuljit Singh Bedi was shown the way out and since then S. Bedi left Congress. Although in the past S. Bedi did not join any party and when talking about this he used to say that he is a Congressman and will remain a Congressman.
Some time ago, Anandpur Sahib MP Mr. Manish Tiwari and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Mr. Pratap Singh Bajwa came to Mr. Bedi's residence and announced that he would soon join the Congress Party and today Mr. Bedi formally returned home. .
It should also be mentioned here that he had left the Congress party last year. Balbir Singh Sidhu and Amarjeet Singh Jiti Sidhu are also going to return home to Congress and they have also met the party high command leaders in Delhi recently and it is being said that Sidhu brothers can return home on October 20.
On this occasion, Punjab Congress General Secretary Sandeep Sandhu, Secretary AK Kaushik, District Mohali President Ranjit Singh Jiti Padiyala and senior Congress leader Harsimran Singh Sandhu were also present.
I am a Congressman from the beginning and will remain a Congressman
On this occasion Shri. Kuljit Singh Bedi said that he has been in the Congress party for more than three decades and will remain a Congressman all his life. He said that with the inclusion of him in the mainstream by the party high command, he will now work openly for the party and will try his best to strengthen the party.
It is worth mentioning here that S. Bedi started his political journey through Youth Congress in 1991 and in 1993 he was appointed General Secretary of the district unit of the party by Shri Bhupesh Sharma, President of Youth Congress District Ropar. After this he was also the General Secretary and office in-charge of Punjab Youth Congress. He has also been the President of Block Congress Mohali in Big Congress and has been continuously winning the election of councilor from Phase 3B2 of Mohali on Congress ticket since 2005.
