
Students got honor under 'Rising Sun' campaign, took oath of social service.

Hoshiarpur- District Administration and Red Cross Society Hoshiarpur jointly organized 'Rising Rise - The Young Changemaker' program under 'Rising Sun' campaign at James Cambridge International School today. Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain was the chief guest of the program, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Oshi Mandal, CSR heads of various industries, representatives of social organizations, members of NGOs, school administrators, educationists and students were also present.
The program started with lighting of lamps and after this the students of James Cambridge School presented Ganesh Vandana and filled the atmosphere with spiritual energy. Artists of Ankur Rangmanch gave an inspiring presentation on the need for positive change in the society through street play under 'Chadhta Suraj' campaign.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain honored the students who contributed in various social fields during the summer vacation under 'Chadhta Suraj' campaign.
Lovepreet Kaur and Navneet Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School Behbal Manj were awarded in environment sector, Amanat Mehta of St. Joseph Convent School in waste management, Vishvdeep Sharma of Cambridge Overseas School in water conservation, Ishanvi of Dashmesh Public School in cleanliness, Charanpreet Kaur of Mount Carmel in welfare of marginalized communities, Shreesha Gupta of Delhi International School in relief work, Mankaran Kaur in education, Sukhwinder Kaur, Anjali and Dilpreet of Government High School Bhikhowal in animal and bird care and Zorawar Singh of St. Joseph Convent School in all-rounder category.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner said that small efforts can bring big changes in the society. Appreciating the participation of students in social activities, he said that such initiatives make the youth understand their responsibilities and become sensitive towards the society.
He said that the aim of 'Chharda Suraj' campaign is to provide a common platform to individuals and institutions who bring positive change in the society. This campaign is being run under the leadership of the district administration in collaboration with the Red Cross Society as a digital and social platform, which is working to recognize people working in areas like environment, health, education, animal welfare and social justice.
While talking to journalists, the Deputy Commissioner said that in the next phase of the 'Chharda Suraj' campaign, an awareness campaign will be run to make Mata Chintpurni Mela free from single use plastic and for stubble management during the paddy season. He appealed to the students and social organizations present to play an active role in this direction.
In the program, special students of 'Wings' group gave a cultural presentation, which was highly appreciated by the audience. After this, a specially prepared theme song 'Chharda Suraj' was launched on the LED wall. The Deputy Commissioner administered the oath of social service to all the people present. The program concluded with a spectacular performance by 'James Band', which mesmerized the audience.

Excel, Hawkings, Reliance Industries, Usha Martin, Unnati Cooperative Society and officials from other departments were also present on the occasion.
