SAS Nagar, May 21- A special program was organized at the ancient Shri Shiv Mandir, Phase 1, Mohali to create awareness about sympathy for birds among people in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad, Mohali branch.
Giving details, Mohali branch president Ashok Pawar said that during the program 150 earthen pots were distributed to the people and they were appealed to fill them with water and keep them on the roofs, terraces and balconies of their houses for the birds. In addition, 150 packets of Sattu were distributed free of cost for the birds.
He said that at this time severe heat is wreaking havoc, and the temperature is increasing day by day. It is natural to feel thirsty again and again in this scorching sun. We humans can express our thirst, but this season becomes very difficult for the mute birds. Many birds die due to heat and thirst. He said that in view of these circumstances, this program was organized to protect the voiceless birds in this scorching summer season.
Earlier, Satish Vij, President, Maharana Pratap Branch, Mohali welcomed the guests. State Patron Gurdeep Singh thanked the guests and the temple management for their cooperation.
