
Residents of Jalalpur village in Hoshiarpur have assured full support to the Chief Minister’s ‘War on Drugs’ campaign.
Hoshiarpur – Residents of Jalalpur village in Hoshiarpur district, once a hub of drugs, today assured full support and cooperation to the unique campaign ‘War on Drugs’ launched by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the complete eradication of drugs.

Harmanpreet Singh, a resident of Budhi village, appreciated the drug-free journey launched by the Punjab government and termed it a very noble step. He further said that they stand with the government along with everyone in the mission of making Punjab drug-free.
Paramjit Kaur, a resident of village Udmur, thanked the Chief Minister and his government for starting this noble initiative which will play a significant role in saving the coming generations from drugs. Karan Singh Bindu, a resident of village Khangwadi, praised the recently launched drug de-addiction journey and said that it will enable the youth to stay away from drugs and contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free society.
Atinderpal Singh, a youth from village Dhadiala, who overcame drug addiction during the ongoing war on drugs, shared his experience and said that drugs are truly like an epidemic. He said that drugs have weakened him physically, mentally and financially and have also broken his family ties. He wanted to quit drugs, but could not find the right path. Finally, he started treatment at a drug rehabilitation centre run by the Punjab government and is now completely drug-free.
He said that everyone should support the war on drugs being waged by the Bhagwant Mann government, because it is not just a war against drugs, but it is a war to save our youth and the future of Punjab and we should join this war together. This is what we need to win. Gurpreet Singh of village Bullowal, talking about his experience of quitting drugs, said that drugs have bad consequences from every aspect. He said that drugs have completely destroyed his social and family life. The drug rehabilitation center run by the Punjab government has become a ray of hope for him. After getting treatment from this center, he was able to come out of the swamp of drugs. Today he is living a happy and drug-free life with his family. He appealed to the youth to never get trapped in the swamp of drugs.
