
Awareness Seminar on Child Marriage Held
SAS Nagar, June 28: The Punjab Police Saanjh Kendra Sub-Division Number 1 organized a seminar in Guru Nanak Amar Colony, Sector 57, located in the local industrial area Phase 7, to raise awareness about preventing child marriages.
SAS Nagar, June 28: The Punjab Police Saanjh Kendra Sub-Division Number 1 organized a seminar in Guru Nanak Amar Colony, Sector 57, located in the local industrial area Phase 7, to raise awareness about preventing child marriages.
During the seminar, led by ASI Ranbir Singh, the in-charge of Saanjh Kendra, people were informed that at the time of marriage, the girl’s age should be above 18 years and the boy’s age above 21 years.
On this occasion, ASI Ranbir Singh, while raising awareness about child marriage, stated that legal action could be taken against those who engage in such practices. Sahil Saini from the Phase 1 Sub-Division Number 1 police station and committee member R.P. Walia were also present.
