Program organized at Government College Derabassi under the 'War on Drugs' campaign

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 6: At Government College Derabassi, under the patronage of Principal Mrs. Gitanjali Kalra, the Red Ribbon Club, Buddy Group and NSS of the college organized a program under the Punjab Government's campaign 'War on Drugs'. This program was organized as per the schedule issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Derabassi in which Tehsildar Mr. Sumit Singh Dhillon attended as the chief guest.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 6: At Government College Derabassi, under the patronage of Principal Mrs. Gitanjali Kalra, the Red Ribbon Club, Buddy Group and NSS of the college organized a program under the Punjab Government's campaign 'War on Drugs'. This program was organized as per the schedule issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Derabassi in which Tehsildar Mr. Sumit Singh Dhillon attended as the chief guest.
During the program, songs, speeches and street plays were presented by the students of the college with the aim of creating awareness against drugs. Through these performances, they proved themselves to be responsible youth and conveyed the message of the need to eradicate the social evil of drugs to the rest of the students.
An exhibition of posters giving a message against drugs was also organized by the students of Fine Arts.
Chief guest Mr. Sumit Singh Dhillon while addressing the students said that drugs are physically and mentally depleting the young generation of Punjab. Youth caught in the clutches of drugs are distracted from their studies and do not even participate in competitive exams to get jobs. In this way, drugs, unemployment and crime lead their lives to death. He sought cooperation in making Punjab drug-free by supporting the war against drugs campaign launched by the Punjab government.
Principal Mrs. Gitanjali Kalra while addressing said that the message given by the students against drugs through their artistic performances is the need of the hour to convey it to every household and to make the society drug-free. He motivated the students to stay away from this scourge of drugs. At the end of the program, the students who gave presentations were given certificates and prizes by the chief guest and the principal.
