Hoshiarpur- A special meeting was organized in the office of D.A.V. College of Education under the leadership of Sanjeev Arora, President of the Rotary Eye Bank and eminent social worker, and Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, Principal of D.A.V. College of Education. During this meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding awareness on eye donation was signed. On this occasion, President Sanjeev Arora stated that the objective of this MoU is to raise awareness about eye donation among the people of both parties, and seminars related to eye donation will be organized from time to time so that people can be provided with detailed information about the importance of eye donation. Mr. Arora said that both parties will always encourage work related to eye diseases and their treatment research, and both parties will always be ready to fully support the eye banks and social organizations associated with eye donation activities.
During the meeting, Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla said that coordination will also be established with national and international social organizations working on eye donation, and exchange of ideas will be conducted with them regarding research on eyes. Dr. Vidhi Bhalla said that any program related to eye donation organized in the college campus will be fully supported by the Rotary Bank. Dr. Vidhi Bhalla further said that if needed, amendments can also be made to the MoU, and if either party has any objections regarding any matter, they can cancel the MoU by giving six months’ notice. The validity of this MoU will be for five years.
On this occasion, Chairman J.B. Behl provided detailed information regarding eye donation and assured that the work related to eye donation will be carried out in accordance with the MoU, which will especially benefit people living in darkness.
