Checking of school vehicles for the safety of children, challans issued to seven buses.

Nawanshahr- As per the order of Punjab and Haryana High Court and the guidelines of Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, school vehicles were checked in Nawanshahr today under the Safe School Vehicle Policy with the cooperation of the team and the drivers of school buses were informed about the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy.

Nawanshahr- As per the order of Punjab and Haryana High Court and the guidelines of Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh, school vehicles were checked in Nawanshahr today under the Safe School Vehicle Policy with the cooperation of the team and the drivers of school buses were informed about the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
During the checking, buses of Cambridge School, Doaba Sikh National School, KC Public School, Dr. Asanand School, Prakash Model School, Tagore Model School, Shivalik Public School and RMB DAV Public School etc. were checked. District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora said that the purpose of checking the buses is to review the conditions stipulated in the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
He said that during the checking, the documents of a total of 20 school buses of about 12 schools were checked and challans were also issued for seven school buses that violated the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
On this occasion, the team made it clear to the drivers of school vehicles that appropriate legal action will be taken against vehicles that do not fulfill the conditions of the Safe School Vehicle Policy. The District Child Protection Office is periodically providing information to the school principals and drivers of school vehicles about the Safe School Vehicle Policy such as CCTV cameras, iron grilles on windows, first aid boxes, lady conductors, bus drivers being in school uniform, wearing seat belts, not seating more than the prescribed number of children in the school bus, etc.
Apart from this, the drivers of school buses should also have complete vehicle documents so that they do not have to face any kind of problem. Only through good security of children can one hope for their good future. The Transport Department has also appealed to the general public to inspect the school buses before sending their children in school buses so that they can ensure the safety of their children.
Along with this, he warned the school bus drivers that no leniency will be shown in stopping the buses or issuing challans for violating the Safe School Vehicle Policy. All drivers should get their own and their buses' documents in order before bringing the buses on the road.
