Nawanshahr- Today, Gramin Mazdoor Union Punjab submitted a memorandum to the district administration regarding the basic demands, issues and needs of the workers. On this occasion, state leader Kamaljit Sanawa said that they have already staged protests several times and submitted the demand letter to the administration.
Today we have again come to submit the memorandum to the administration so that the administration pays attention to this. He also said that the administration is ignoring the demands of labor leaders and laborers. We had earlier also informed the administration about submitting the demand letter, but still no officer was present on the spot.
On this occasion, leader Kiranjit Kaur said that the government should implement the Land Ceiling Act 1972 and distribute the remaining land among laborers and small farmers and the entire debt of landless laborers should be waived unconditionally.
On this occasion, Balachaur constituency head Bagicha Singh, constituency Nawanshahr head Surinder Mirpuri said that for a long time there has been no increase in the wages of workers, due to which it is becoming very difficult for the workers to run their households with rising inflation.
They demanded that workers should be given plots of 10-10 marlas and MNREGA workers should be given employment throughout the year. They warned that if the demands are not resolved after submitting the memorandum, then there will be a struggle in the coming days.
