
Himanshu Jain, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana, stresses on prioritizing development, transparency and public welfare
Hoshiarpur:- Himanshu Jain, a 2017 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has taken over as the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana. In an exclusive conversation with senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, he shared his administrative journey, challenges and his initiatives for the progress of Ludhiana.

In an exclusive conversation with senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, he shared his administrative journey, challenges and his initiatives for the progress of Ludhiana.
Talking about his experience, Jain said that he has held important responsibilities like DC Rupnagar, Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister's Office, Municipal Commissioner Hoshiarpur, ADC (Urban Development) Jalandhar, SDM Kharar and Assistant Commissioner (UT) Jalandhar. He said that his main priority will be to ensure transparent administration, accountability and public service.
To make Ludhiana drug-free, Jain talked about taking concrete steps in collaboration with the police and social organizations. He also stressed on improving the health services of the district and providing better treatment to every citizen, saying that improvement of hospitals and health centres will be his top priority.
Understanding the industrial importance of Ludhiana, Jain announced the establishment of a special cell for MSME and industries, so that industrial matters can be dealt with promptly and the problems of traders can be resolved quickly. He also showed determination to achieve the goal of a clean and green Ludhiana.
His administrative priority will be the effective implementation of government schemes for public welfare and making public services easy and fast. Jain appealed to the people to take active participation in governance, saying that the government and the public will have to work together for the progress of Ludhiana.
During his interaction with Sanjeev Kumar, DC Himanshu Jain finally reiterated that his top priority will be ensuring public welfare, industrial development and good governance. He appealed to all stakeholders to come together and cooperate to make Ludhiana a developed and ideal city.
