Garhshankar- MLA of Garhshankar constituency and Deputy Speaker Jai Krishna Singh Rodi has advised all ration card holders to get e-KYC done soon, so that they keep getting ration uninterruptedly.
He said that the Food and Civil Supplies Department of the Government of India has issued instructions to make 100% e-KYC mandatory for all beneficiaries receiving ration under the National Security Act-2013 by March 31, 2025. Those who do not do so will stop getting ration. Mr. Rodi said that about twenty-five percent of the people have not implemented this process.
He said that for this, it is necessary for all ration card holders to take their Aadhar card to the concerned ration distribution depot and get their fingerprints done. There is no cost to do this and it is a very simple process. Mr. Rodi said that since last one year, depot holders across Punjab have started taking fingerprints of beneficiaries on e-POS machines, but despite a long time having passed, many beneficiaries have not implemented it.
