
Four members of a gang arrested for carrying out robberies and criminal activities in Mohali at gunpoint.
SAS Nagar, May 28- Mohali Police has arrested four persons for carrying out robberies and criminal activities in Mohali at gunpoint. One country-made pistol (315 bore) along with one live 315 bore cartridge and one country-made 32 bore pistol have been recovered from these persons.

Providing details, SP City Shri Srivinila said that these persons were arrested during a drive launched by the District Police on the directions of SSP Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans to curb incidents of illegal weapons and to control gangsters. The arrested persons are named as Som, Aarish Chaudhary, Akash Chaudhary and Harminder Singh. All of them are residents of Uttar Pradesh, living on rent at different places in Mohali and used to commit crimes together.
He said that preliminary interrogation revealed that they bring weapons from Uttar Pradesh and come to Punjab to commit crimes. These persons had fired on 25th May at Lakhnaur village (Sohana Police Station) and a few days back had carried out criminal activities with arms near Hero Homes, Sector 88, Mohali. It also came to light that they had also fired in the Industrial Area some time back. He said that these persons were forming a gang to make their mark and were trying to spread terror among people by firing and fighting with illegal arms in Mohali.
He informed that the kingpin of this gang is Som, and all crimes were committed at his behest. These persons were produced in the Hon'ble Court today, and four days police remand has been obtained, and they are being questioned.
He further informed that all of them are habitual offenders, and several cases are registered against them earlier. All of them used to live on rent in Madanpur village. Aarish Chaudhary, a resident of Talvi village, Muzaffarnagar District (UP), has two cases registered against him under Arms Act in Kotwali Police Station, Shahmali District. Harminder Singh, a resident of Baju village, Saharanpur district (UP), has one case registered against him under the Arms Act at Adarsh ??Mandi police station, Shahmali district. Akash Chaudhary, a resident of Kirnal village, Baghpat district (UP), has four cases registered against him under the Arms Act.
