The 60 girls participating in this camp are being trained by trained trainers of the police department, Sub Inspector Suresh Pal and Constable Neeraj Kumar. This camp, which started on September 16, will conclude on Monday, September 23.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the administration has taken the initiative to organize a 7-day free training camp in colleges across the district to teach self-defense techniques to girls under the Samarthya program. In this series, this camp has been organized in Una Degree College. Trained and experienced experts in these camps will make women proficient in self-defense techniques, so that they will not only be empowered, but will also feel self-reliant and safe.
He said that through such efforts the administration is committed to promoting the safety and self-reliance of women as well as women empowerment in the society.
