
The play 'Inna Di Awaz' was successfully staged at the Nora Richards Theatre Festival
Patiala, December 7: On the fifth day of the 10th Nora Richards Theatre Festival organized by the Department of Youth Welfare, Punjabi University and Punjab Music Academy Chandigarh in collaboration with Sarthak Rangmanch and Social Welfare Society Patiala, Suchetak Rangmanch Mohali presented the play 'Inna Di Awaz'.

This Hindi play with a dark Urdu tone has been translated into Punjabi by Shabdish. Asghar Wajahat's play 'Inna Di Awaz' is the story of an artist who takes refuge in power, loses the love of the people and reaches the same place from where he left.
The playwright has portrayed the story as an event from the distant past and centuries ago, when the people of the world were suffering from the atrocities of monarchy. The story of the play revolves around a character named 'Inna', who was enslaved after a military attack and was bought by the nobles of a king and made a worker in his kingdom. Anita Shabdish, Gary Waraich, Armaan Sandhu, Gurjant Singh, Avtar Airy, Yuvraj Bajwa, Param, Gurmukh Ginni, Mandeep Joshi, Bharat Sharma, Anuhar, Sonia, Babita played their roles very well in the play. Karan Gulzar assisted in lighting and Shabdish and Avanur assisted in background live music. The set design and makeup of the play was done by Dr. Lakha Lahiri.
Festival Director Dr. Inderjit Goldie thanked the guests and audience. In the morning face-to-face session, Punjabi theatre and film actress Anita Shabdish and her fellow writer Shabdish shared memories of their theatre and film journey with the audience and answered the questions of the audience. Anita Shabdish said that films give money, but theatre gives satisfaction. Finally, to promote book culture, both of them released the book 'Tamha' written by Swami Sarbjit published by Twenty First Century.
