
The mastermind of marijuana smuggling has been arrested.
Karnal, September 20: The Ambala unit of the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSCB) has arrested Rajendra (son of Ramdia), a resident of Samalkha (Panipat district), a wanted drug smuggler who had been absconding for 27 months. This action was taken under the guidance of Director General of Police Mr. O.P. Singh (Indian Police Service) and under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Mr. Mohit Handa (Indian Police Service).

Preliminary investigation revealed that Rajendra, along with his associates, was involved in illegal marijuana smuggling. On June 3, 2023, his associate, Meera, was arrested in Tarawadi (Karnal district) with 25 kg 600 grams of marijuana. Since then, the main accused, Rajendra, had been absconding and a reward of ?10,000 was announced on his head.
According to a police spokesperson, the accused was arrested and produced before the Honorable Court, where he was remanded to one-day police custody. By thoroughly interrogating the accused, information will be gathered about the network of ganja smuggling and the supply-distribution system.
