No farmer will be bullied: Mann

Chamkaur Sahib- In view of the opposition to the land pooling policy, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today said that no farmer of Punjab will be bullied. He will be talked to in this regard. Bhagwant Mann along with his wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and daughter had reached the historical Gurdwara Sri Qatalgarh Sahib here to pay obeisance. During this, they bowed down and listened to Gurbani Kirtan.

He said that he has come to this historical place to pray for the welfare and progress of Punjab. When asked about the opposition to the land pooling policy, Chief Minister Mr. Mann said that meetings will be held with the general public and no farmer of Punjab will be bullied. Land will be taken after the consent of the farmers.
Mr. Mann said that the sub-divisional hospital of Chamkaur Sahib will also be dedicated to the people of the constituency soon. It is worth mentioning that there were speculations in the entire area that the Chief Minister would inaugurate the 50-bed sub-divisional level hospital built here, but he limited his visit only to Gurdwara Sri Qatalgarh Sahib.
Deputy Commissioner Varjit Walia, DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, District Police Chief Gulneet Singh Khurana, SDM Amrik Singh Sidhu etc. were present on this occasion. On this occasion, the leaders of Chamkaur Sahib Morcha, who were opposing the paper mill being set up in village Dholran, submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and demanded immediate closure of this mill.

Accusation of police pushing farmers-
Some farmer leaders alleged that when they tried to talk to the Chief Minister about the land pooling policy, the police pushed them. The farmer leaders expressed their protest against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Due to the Chief Minister's visit, the Khalsa School adjacent to the Gurdwara Sahib was declared a holiday in the morning and only the girls and teachers who were celebrating Teej were present in the school. The police and administrative officials did not allow the leaders of various organizations who had reached there to press their respective demands to approach the Chief Minister.
Due to which many leaders kept arguing with the police officials. Meanwhile, the outsourced workers of the Electricity Board raised slogans against the Chief Minister.
