
Government college girls dominate Gidda and Solo Dance Competition
Patiala, February 21- The eighth day of Saras Mela being held at Sheesh Mahal Patiala was dedicated to International Mother Language Day. The colourful Punjab was reflected in the fair with folk dance and folk art, gutta gundan competitions.

Under the leadership of Fair Officer Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Anuprita Johal, while the fair brought gifts of handicrafts from different states for the audience, a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of Punjab was seen in folk dance, folk song and folk art competitions.
On behalf of the District Administration, the host of the cultural programs, Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal congratulated all the participants on International Mother Language Day and presented his popular song Keda Gai Soohi Soohi Sang. In the Gidda competition, the girls of Government College secured the first position and Government Government College secured the second position.
In Solo Dance, Chahikpreet of Government College Girls Patiala got first place, Taranjot Kaur of Government Polytechnic Patiala and Navdeep Kaur of Government Mahindra College got second place. In Guttural Weaving, Kritika Aru of Meera Public School, Aishwarya of Government Eminence Fieldkhana and Preeti of Government ITI Girls got first place.
