The Shiromani Baba Nam Dev Welfare Society, situated behind DAV School on Nawanshahr-Musapur Road, organised the 17th Annual Maha Utsav and Bhandara at Baba Namdev Ji's place on Sunday. After offering Nishan Sahib in the morning, Granthi Manjit Singh and his companions recited Sri Sukhmani Sahib Ji.
He told the congregation that we should meditate on God. We should rise above caste and help every human being. Taking God's name is the most important. Baba Nam Dev Ji has inspired us to stay away from Maya and meditate on God in his Bani. Baba Nam Dev Ji's 61 Shabads and 18 Ragas are compiled in the holy scriptures of Sri Granth Sahib. It is said that Baba Nam Dev Ji had seen God 72 times.
He said that when Baba Nam Ji went to pay obeisance at Kalpatar Mandir, he was not allowed to pay obeisance due to caste discrimination, so the temple was turned upside down for him. He said that to attain God, one must truly love him. After the discourse, a bhandaara was arranged for the congregation.
On this occasion, Pyara Lal, Tirath Ram Kaith, Baldev Krishna Rimpi, Mahendra Singh Kaith, Sanjeev Kaith, Vipan Kumar, Naresh Kaith, Avtar Sethi, Tirlochan Virdi, Vijay Kumar, Jasvir Lal, Manish Basra, Har, Aryaman, Deepak Kumar, Kamal Basra, Sukhdev Kumar, Arman Basra, Varinder Kumar, Anshuman, Asha Rani, Suman, Kusum, Kiran Rani, Sunita, Kulwinder Kaur, Manorama and a large number of women were present.
