Hoshiarpur Municipal Pensioners Welfare Association (Regd.) meeting held at Shakti Mandir

Hoshiarpur- Hoshiarpur Municipal Pensioners Welfare Association (Regd.) Annual Meeting was held at Shakti Mandir, Naya Abadi, Hoshiarpur under the chairmanship of President Amarjit Singh Sethi. Before the meeting started, Amarjit Singh Sethi thanked all the pensioner colleagues for attending the meeting despite the severe cold and wished them a Happy New Year 2025 and said that this New Year 2025 should be full of happiness for all.

Hoshiarpur- Hoshiarpur Municipal Pensioners Welfare Association (Regd.) Annual Meeting was held at Shakti Mandir, Naya Abadi, Hoshiarpur under the chairmanship of President Amarjit Singh Sethi. Pensioners above 80 years of age of the association, Gurdev Singh, Madan Lal and Roop Rani were honored with mementoes and shawls. Prayers were offered to God for the health and prosperity of all the pensioners. Pradhan criticized the Punjab government and said that this government is completing the remaining time of its rule with jokes and advertisements, while the demand of the pensioners and employees for payment of the arrears of the Pay Commission and installments of dearness allowance is not having any effect on it and it seems that the government is not ready to give up its stubborn attitude.
Taking the proceedings of the meeting forward, Finance Secretary Mr. Ramesh Kumar read out the account of income and expenditure of the association during the last year 2024 and apprised the pensioners and got their approval. General Secretary Mangat Raj placed some demands of the pensioners in the meeting, which mainly includes exemption from payment of water and sewer bills for the Municipal Corporation pensioners, just as the Punjab Electricity Department is providing free electricity supply to its employees and pensioners.
Respected Mayor and Commissioner Madam should be requested to request the Municipal Corporation pensioners to also exempt them from property tax. The proposal moved by Mangat Raj was passed unanimously. Vice President Prem Dhingra said that all pensioners should be aware of their demands and Punjab Government should adopt a simple approach to get the demands fulfilled. One should be ready to struggle for the fulfillment of demands.
For this purpose, the President should make a plan with the cooperation of the pensioners and motivate them for immediate action by making an advance program. Amarjit Singh Sethi President, Prem Dhingra, Ramesh Kumar, Mangat Raj, Narinder Singh (Garhdiwala), Joginder Mehta, Chaman Singh, Mukul Kesar, Kirti Prabha, Dilbag Singh, Rikhi Ram (Sham Churasi) and all other pensioners were present in the meeting.
