Kapurthala (Paigam-E-Jagat)- As per the rules of Sirjana Kendra Kapurthala (Regd.), a famous institution of Kapurthala district dedicated to literature, culture and art, a new committee was elected at the office of the center, Virsa Vihar. As per the appeal made by the Center's President International Poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh and General Secretary Poet Shahbaz Khan for the election of the new team after completing the tenure of two years, the members attended the Center's office, Virsa Vihar Kapurthala and presented their views regarding the election of the new team.
On this occasion, the report of the Center's activities from the year 2023 to 2025 was read out. The Center's General Secretary Shahbaz Khan held a meeting, in which programs related to face-to-face meetings, book release ceremonies, ghazal workshops, felicitation ceremonies, book discussions and discussions etc. were mentioned.
After the dissolution of the first team, the members and officials present on the spot, by mutual consent, selected a seven-member selection committee, which was given the responsibility of deciding the selection of the new team. This seven-member team included Dr. Surinderpal Singh, Roshan Khaira (State Award Winner), Dr. Ram Murti, Surjit Sajan, Rana Saidowalia, Dr. Harpreet Singh Hundal and Avtar Singh Gill. Keeping in mind the good performance of the old team, it was decided on the basis of majority that renowned poet Kanwar Iqbal Singh should be given the responsibility of President and Shahbaz Khan as General Secretary for the next two years.
Everyone agreed to this decision and the new team was announced. On this occasion, President Kanwar Iqbal Singh assured that like last time, his team will try to run the activities of the center more smoothly and in a planned manner this time too. General Secretary Shahbaz Khan said in his words that understanding the importance of this responsibility, our effort will be to further elevate the literary stature of the center and increase its scope.
On this occasion, Chan Momi, Principal Sarwan Singh Pardesi, Malkit Singh Meet, Ashu Kumara, Lali Kartarpuri, Ratan Singh Sandhu retired food and supply officer, Jaswant Singh "Khadur Sahib", Tejbir Singh, Dr. Anurag Sharma, Gurdeep Gill, Manjinder Kamal, Balveer Kaur, Jaspreet Singh Dhingan, Sant Singh Sandhu, Anmol Singh and Kewal Singh Rattra, Madam Satnam Kaur, Ravi Sahota Panchayat Officer Nadala, Sukhdeep Singh Deep etc. were present. It was also decided that the new executive will be announced soon. At the end, the newly elected President Kanwar Iqbal Singh and General Secretary Shahbaz Khan thanked everyone.
