Patiala, December 2: Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav warmly welcomed 50 orphan children living in different children's homes of the district when they arrived at the DC office. She motivated the children to study so that they can achieve a good position by reading and writing. The children presented a painting made by themselves to the Deputy Commissioner as a gift. 
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the painting presented by the children. She distributed school bags to the children and also gave them food and drink. The Deputy Commissioner asked Child Protection Officer Shaina Kapoor to inform the children about the working of the Deputy Commissioner's office. Shaina Kapoor also took the children to the SSP office and the children were also warmly welcomed by SP Yogesh Sharma who was present there.
They also took the children to the District Employment Office so that the children could get information regarding employment. Red Cross Secretary Pritpal Singh and officers/employees of the District Child Protection Department and employees from various children's homes were also present on this occasion.
