Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 16, 2024: 2,00,605 metric tons of paddy have been procured in the mandis of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district till Saturday evening, which is 93 percent of the target set for the current season.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain said that 1,50,312 metric tons of paddy have been lifted from the mandis of the district so far and Rs. 452.24 crore has been paid to the farmers.
She further said that the district has set a target of 2,14,776 metric tons of paddy arrival during this paddy season.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, as per the procurement data of various procurement agencies in the district, PUNGRAIN has purchased 68,169 metric tonnes, MARKFED 44,424 metric tonnes, PUNSUP 42,633 metric tonnes, Punjab State Godown Corporation 20,101 metric tonnes and Food Corporation of India 24,601 metric tonnes of paddy. Private traders have purchased 677 metric tonnes of paddy so far.
