Took point-wise information about every aspect related to election management
General Supervisor Shyam Lal Poonia inquired about the arrangements made in the district to conduct free, fair and transparent elections. He asked the officials to ensure timely action in cases of violation of the Model Code of Conduct. He detailed the arrangements made in EVM-VVPAT strong rooms and counting centres, training of election staff and their accommodation arrangements, deployment of police and home guards, status of minimum basic facilities at all polling centres, Suvidha App and C-Vigil App, expenditure. Took point-wise information on every aspect related to election management including monitoring and gave necessary guidelines.
During this, along with giving information about the entire election process to the representatives of political parties, their questions and doubts were also resolved by answering them.
4 lakh 33 thousand 129 voters in Una district, 516 polling stations, webcasting on 399
On this occasion, District Election Officer, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal informed about the electoral profile and election arrangements of the district. He told that there are 4 lakh 33 thousand 129 voters in the district. Among these, 2 lakh 14 thousand 95 are female, 2 lakh 19 thousand 30 are male and 4 are transgender voters. 516 polling stations have been set up for 6671 voting, out of which 51 are critical. Arrangements for webcasting have been made at 399 polling stations. All polling stations are equipped with basic facilities.
253 complaints of violation of code of conduct have been received so far, all have been resolved.
Jatin Lal said that so far 253 complaints of code of conduct violation have been received in the district. Of these, 74 complaints have been received on C-Vigil app. It has been ensured that all complaints are resolved within stipulated time. He said that a control room has been set up in the Deputy Commissioner's office for election related complaints. It is being operated round the clock and people can call toll free number 1950 and landline numbers 01975- 291137, 291138, 291139 and 291141 any time. He said that during the election code of conduct period, so far Rs 3.27 crore of cash, illicit liquor, drugs and other precious jewelery etc. have been seized in the district.
He informed that the first phase of online randomization of EVM-VVPAT machines used in the Lok Sabha elections and 2 assembly elections in the district has been completed in the presence of representatives of political parties. The second randomization has been scheduled for May 19.
The District Election Officer assured the observers to work with full vigilance and vigilance in the district and ensure complete compliance with his instructions. Jatin Lal also informed him about the efforts for voter awareness under the SVEEP program in the district.
Teams will complete the work of 'voting from home' from 21st to 29th May
The District Election Officer said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, arrangements have been made for the elderly above 85 years of age and voters with more than 40 percent disability to cast their vote through postal ballot from home. Special teams of the administration will visit the homes of voters who have opted for voting from home from May 21 to 29 and complete the voting process with complete secrecy. For this, 5-5 mobile polling teams have been formed in every assembly constituency in the district. In which there will be 4 polling personnel in each team. These include a polling officer, a micro observer, a security personnel and a videographer.
Inspection of counting centers done
After the meeting, both the observers inspected the counting centers set up in Government College, Una for the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections and two assembly by-elections and took stock of the security arrangements and gave necessary directions to the officials.
Let us tell you, 5 assembly wise counting centers have been set up for EVM vote counting of Lok Sabha in Degree College Una. Apart from this, two separate counting centers have also been created for the assembly by-elections of Gagret and Kutlahar.
Second randomization process for deployment of election personnel completed
Earlier, the second randomization process for deployment of election personnel was completed with the help of DISE Next Gen software in the NIC room of the Deputy Commissioner's office in the presence of the General Observer. District Election Officer was also present during this period. The third and final randomization will take place on May 29-30.
Election related complaints can be made on the mobile phones of observers
The District Election Officer said that any kind of complaint related to elections can be made directly to the observers of the Election Commission.
