Nawanshahr – District Magistrate Rajesh Dhiman exercising powers conferred under Section 163 of Indian Civil Defence Code 2023 has issued an order that any person residing within the jurisdiction of Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Gram Panchayats of the district, if keeping tenant/servant/paying/guest Nepali langari in his house/hotel/restaurant, he shall be bound to report it within one week to dc_nawanshahr@rediffmail.com and dpo.nsr.police@punjab.gov.in. He said that the landlords who have not yet given information about the tenants to the police, should give the information of the tenant (name, father's name, photo and Aadhar card) on the said email within a week from the date of issue of this order. He said that the tenants / servants / paying guests kept by the landlords are sometimes drug addicts, anti-social and of criminal background and keep making noise in rented houses and public places, due to which there is a possibility of law and order situation deteriorating. Yes, but the landlords do not register the information of these tenants with the police on time. The said order has been implemented to prevent such incidents. This order will remain in force till 24 December 2024.
