Hoshiarpur- Alliance Club International District 119 organized a 'Welcome' program at the local Hotel Shiraz Regency on the arrival of 74-year-old Engineer SP Sharma, who won 3 gold medals and 2 bronze medals from the 44th National Veteran Athletics Championship (Mysore), in Hoshiarpur.
On this occasion, Lieutenant General JS Dhillon, ELI Ashok Puri International Director and ELI Advocate SP Rana, Past District Governor ELI Ramesh Kumar and District Governor ELI Vivek Sahni were specially present.
The moderator of this entire program was Dr. Sukhdev Singh Dhillon. On this occasion, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Dhillon said that veteran athlete SP Sharma won gold medals in long jump 3.87, high jump 1.05 and finished second in 100 meters 14.86 and 200 meters 32.56 seconds. He said that he has brought glory to Hoshiarpur by winning gold medals in 4x100 meters race.
On this occasion, retired Lieutenant General J.S. Dhillon congratulated him for taking care of his fitness at the age of 74 and bringing glory to Hoshiarpur as well as Punjab and the country and asked him to take senior citizens of Hoshiarpur along in the veteran games and create a veteran culture.
After Ally Ramesh Kumar, Ally Vivek Sahni and Ally Advocate SP Rana, Ally Ashok Puri, International Director of Alliance Club International for the year 2025-26, congratulated the 74-year-old athlete and veteran for winning medals continuously in the Games since 2000. He also announced on this occasion that SP Sharma will be the honorary member of the Super Senior Citizen of Alliance Club. On this occasion, the eminent hockey player Mrs. Gursharan Kaur Dhillon also congratulated the chief guest SP Sharma. After this, veteran athlete SP Sharma was honored.
