
40 percent increase in students of undergraduate courses of Punjabi University: Prof. AK Tiwari
Patiala, June 14 - The number of students applying for undergraduate courses in Punjabi University has increased by about 40 per cent as compared to last year. This information was given by Dean Academic Affairs and Executive Registrar Dr. Ashok Kumar Tiwari after inspecting the counseling going on at various places in the campus.

He said that Punjabi University has witnessed an increase of about 40 per cent in the number of admission applications as compared to last year. He said that the number of applicants has almost doubled in some departments/centres.
He said that 50 applications in B.Tech in Computer Science (CSE) and five-year UG-PG Programme (Hons with Research) have also been received at the Regional Centre of the University, Mohali. He said that some changes made in the system related to five-year integrated courses, such as distribution of major subjects at the time of admission, have removed the uncertainty about these courses in the minds of students who want to take admission in these courses and a sense of satisfaction has been created. He said that the financial assistance received from the government has created an environment of stability in the university and has boosted the morale of the university staff.
