Statement on bombs: Pratap Bajwa did not appear at Mohali police station

Mohali/Chandigarh, April 14 - Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Pratap Singh Bajwa did not attend the interrogation to be conducted at Mohali police station today in the 'statement on bombs' case. Mohali SP Harbir Singh Atwal had summoned Bajwa yesterday and invited him to join the investigation at the State Cyber ??Crime Police Station Phase-7 of Punjab Police at 12 noon on Monday. However, Bajwa did not reach the police station.

Mohali/Chandigarh, April 14 - Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Pratap Singh Bajwa did not attend the interrogation to be conducted at Mohali police station today in the 'statement on bombs' case. Mohali SP Harbir Singh Atwal had summoned Bajwa yesterday and invited him to join the investigation at the State Cyber ??Crime Police Station Phase-7 of Punjab Police at 12 noon on Monday. However, Bajwa did not reach the police station.
About an hour ago, Bajwa's lawyer Pardeep Singh Virk reached the police station and submitted an application on behalf of Bajwa to the authorities, seeking an extension to appear till tomorrow, April 15. Now he (Bajwa) will reach the Mohali police station at 2 pm on Tuesday and join the investigation.
In an interview given to a private TV channel, Bajwa had claimed that 50 bombs had arrived in Punjab, citing sources. He had said that 18 of these bombs had exploded and 32 were yet to explode. In this regard, a case has been registered against Bajwa under various sections in the State Cyber ??Crime Police Station Phase-7 of the Punjab Police. It is worth noting that in the notice issued by the SP Mohali, Bajwa has been asked to appear at the Cyber ??Crime Police Station Phase-7 of Mohali at 12 noon today. A case (FIR No. 19) has been registered against Partap Singh Bajwa under sections 353 (2), 197 (1) D of the IPC in the Mohali police station. During an interview on a private TV channel, Bajwa had said, citing sources, that many bombs had arrived in Punjab, out of which 18 had exploded while 32 bombs were lying around. After this, politics got heated. The Punjab government has brought a senior Congress leader to justice after a long time. When Bajwa made this revelation on a private TV channel, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had directed the police to take immediate action. After this, the Counter Intelligence team knocked on Bajwa's residence. The Chief Minister had asked Bajwa live on social media what was the source of his information about the bombs? The Chief Minister had said that if Bajwa had such information, it was his responsibility to share it with the Punjab Police. After this, a team of the state intelligence agency reached Bajwa's house in Sector-8, Chandigarh to record his statement. The members of the intelligence agency had said that Bajwa had refused to reveal the source of the information about the bombs. However, Bajwa said that if the Chief Minister registers a case against him, it will be political vendetta.
