Women of Hoshiarpur celebrated Teej festival
Hoshiarpur, August 19:- The women of Hoshiarpur Enclave celebrated Teej festival with great enthusiasm, joy and traditional colors at a local hotel. This event was organized under the leadership of social worker Harvinder Khakh, in which women of different age groups participated in large numbers.
On this occasion, along with women engaged in household chores, women working in education, administration, social service and other high positions also attended and appreciated the event. The event venue was beautifully decorated in accordance with Punjabi culture. Women arrived in colorful traditional dresses, which further enhanced the vibrancy of Teej festival.
During this, folk songs, gidhas, cultural performances and various entertaining activities were organized, in which the participants participated with full enthusiasm. The women greeted each other on Teej and conveyed the message of strengthening social unity and cultural heritage.
Madam Karamjit Kaur, District President of Aam Aadmi Party and in-charge of Lok Sabha constituency Hoshiarpur, was the chief guest at the event. Anita Rani, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Kakkon was also present. The organizers welcomed both the guests by presenting them with a token of appreciation.
During her address, Madam Karamjit Kaur said that Teej is not just a traditional festival, but a symbol of women's power, self-confidence and social participation. She said that today's women are proving their mettle in every field and are playing an important role in the development of society.
Appealing to women to adopt education, self-reliance and social awareness, she said that an empowered woman is the foundation of an empowered family and a empowered society.
Karamjit Kaur said, “Women are working shoulder to shoulder with men in every field today. Providing better education and opportunities to daughters is the biggest need of the hour. When women become self-reliant, the family, society and the country all become stronger. Such cultural events give women an opportunity to showcase their talent, share ideas and become socially empowered.”
She said that the Punjab government is also running many schemes for the upliftment and empowerment of women, the benefits of which should reach every woman.
On this occasion, Sarpanch Anita Rani also congratulated women on Teej and appreciated their important role in society.
