Two more accused arrested in a snatching incident

Karnal, August 29: The Karnal District Police is taking continuous, strict, and effective action to curb snatching incidents and apprehend the accused involved in them. As part of this effort, the CIA-3 Karnal team, led by In-charge Inspector Ajay Sagwan, successfully arrested two additional accused involved in a snatching incident: Dev Gupta (son of Neeraj Gupta, resident of Jagatpuri, East Delhi) and Mohit Chaudhary alias Sonu (son of Nareshpal, resident of Mahavir Enclave, South East Delhi).
Providing details about the case, Investigating Officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Kuldeep Singh stated that on August 24, 2026, a woman lodged a complaint at the Sector-32/33 Police Station, Karnal. She reported that she was waiting for a school bus near the Karnal Vihar Green Belt in the morning when some unidentified youths on a motorcycle approached from behind, snatched the gold chain from her neck, and fled the scene.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered under the relevant sections at the Sector-32/33 Police Station, Karnal, and an investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, the CIA-3 team acted on technical and other evidence to first arrest an accused named Jatin (son of Anil Kumar, resident of Trilokpuri, East Delhi).
The police interrogated Jatin extensively. During questioning, he revealed that Dev Gupta and Mohit Chaudhary alias Sonu were also involved in the snatching incident. Acting on this information and a confidential tip-off, the CIA-3 team apprehended and arrested both accused.
Both arrested individuals are currently undergoing intensive interrogation. Information regarding their specific roles in the crime and details about the motorcycle used in the incident will be gathered during questioning. If other individuals are found to be involved in the case, action will be taken against them in accordance with the law.
