Step towards permanent solution to waterlogging problem in 6 villages of Hansi
Hansi:- Administration has taken steps for permanent solution to waterlogging problem in residential areas and fields of Jeetpura, Bhatol Jatan, Bhatol Ragdan, Badala, Garhi and Kharkada villages. Pump house and gate gearing will be constructed on road number 97600 of BMP drain. Its tender process has been completed and construction work will be started as soon as rainy season ends.
SDM Rajesh Khoth on Friday visited affected villages and surrounding fields and took stock of waterlogging situation. He talked to farmers and took information about problems related to drainage. During this, officers of South Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation, Irrigation Department and Development and Panchayat Department were also present.
Instructions to ensure 24-hour power supply
SDM directed officers that there should not be any obstruction in drainage work. He asked officers of South Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation to ensure 24-hour power supply for uninterrupted operation of pumps. Also gave instructions to give priority to drainage of water from affected areas.
He directed Irrigation Department to prepare and send proposal by Monday for laying new pipeline from near Rishikul School to BMC drain for drainage of rain water from Bhatol and Badala area. He also asked to ensure necessary temporary arrangements till permanent system is made.
1000 acre area to benefit from 5000 feet pipeline
SDM said that pump house to be built on road number 97600 of BMP drain will strengthen drainage system. Tender process has been completed and construction will start after rains. This will help in permanent solution to waterlogging problem in fields of surrounding villages.
There is a plan to lay about 5000 feet long pipeline from near Rishikul School to BMPC drain for drainage of rain water of Bhatol and Badala area. This is expected to provide drainage facility to about 1000 acres of agricultural area.
SDM said that objective of administration is to prepare permanent arrangement along with solving current waterlogging so that such situation does not arise in future also. He directed concerned departments to complete work within stipulated time frame with mutual coordination.
During visit, farmers apprised SDM about problems faced in farming due to waterlogging. SDM assured them of taking necessary steps for permanent solution to the problem.
On this occasion, Executive Engineer of South Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation Surender Mehra, SDO of Irrigation Department Vivek Gupta, JE Praveen Kumar, Sarpanch of Jeetpura village Sandeep Kumar including officers of concerned departments, dignitaries and farmers were present.
