Sports Competitions Held in Memory of Er Ankit Arora
Patiala, August 29:- Sports competitions were organized in memory of Er. Ankit Arora (son of Shri Vijay Arora and Alka Arora) on the occasion of National Sports Day at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Patiala, under the leadership of Principal Shri Arun Kumar. The competitions included 100-meter and 200-meter races, three types of fun games, and painting competitions.
Alka Arora said that this year, 190 boys and girls up to the age of 12 years from 16 schools participated in the competitions. The events were judged by former international runner and NIS coach Dr. Kamal Ali Khan and Chief Trainer of First Aid Mission, Shri Kaka Ram Verma.
Shri Vijay Arora said that the running trophies for winning the highest number of prizes were awarded to BN Khalsa Senior Secondary School for securing first position, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Patiala for securing second position, and James Public School, Patiala for securing third position. All the students were encouraged by presenting them with certificates.
International Coach Khan Sahib, while appreciating the participants, said that by imparting knowledge of health, fitness, wellness, strength, patience, peace, humility and discipline to children, they can be developed into national and international-level players. He said that such sports competitions should be organized regularly.
The Principal and Vice Principal expressed their gratitude and said that through such competitions, children can be protected from drug abuse, crime and anti-social elements.
