SIR Review Meeting by District Election Officer

Sangrur, July 6:- Under the process of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (S.I.R.) 2026 of electoral rolls in the state of Punjab, a review meeting was held at the District Administrative Complex, Sangrur, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Sangrur, Smt. Poonamdeep Kaur. The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officers-cum-Sub-Divisional Magistrates of the five assembly constituencies under Sangrur district, along with other concerned officials.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the distribution of forms to be filled by voters, the collection of these forms, their digitization, and the rationalization of electoral rolls. The Deputy Commissioner interacted with every supervisor appointed across the five assembly constituencies and instructed them to ensure the immediate collection and digitization of the forms.
Furthermore, a discussion took place on preparing an action plan for notices and objections following the collection of forms, ensuring that no eligible voter’s name is omitted during the Special Intensive Revision-2026. She also emphasized the importance of proper distribution of work and maintaining mutual coordination to successfully complete this time-bound process.
The Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur stated that it must be ensured that no genuine voter is left out of the electoral roll and that voters do not face any difficulties. Officials and employees from various departments were present at the meeting.
