Roll Observer to visit Hoshiarpur on September 8 to review progress of SIR2026

Hoshiarpur, September 06, 2026: In accordance with the directives of the Election Commission of India, IAS officer Daljit Singh Mangat, appointed as the Roll Observer to monitor the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 in Punjab, will visit Hoshiarpur district on September 8. During the visit, he will thoroughly review the progress and actions taken so far regarding the special revision of electoral rolls in the district.
Sharing details, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Aashika Jain stated that the Roll Observer will hold a meeting on September 8 with sector officers, MPs/MLAs, and representatives of recognized political parties. The meeting will focus on discussing the progress of electoral roll revision under SIR-2026, registration of eligible voters, and various other related procedures.
She informed that following the meeting, the Roll Observer will review the claims and objections received during the electoral roll revision. Additionally, he will assess document verification and voter authentication procedures being conducted by field-level officers and staff.
Aashika Jain emphasized that the district administration is ensuring all necessary arrangements to complete the SIR-2026 process in a transparent, fair, and time-bound manner as per the Election Commission's guidelines. She directed the concerned officials and staff to execute every task associated with the electoral roll revision with utmost seriousness and responsibility, ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out of the voters' list.
