Red Cross Drug Detoxification Center Nawanshahr organizes seminar
Nawanshahr, August 19:- Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Victims, Dharamshala Bhucharan, Nawanshahr celebrated Independence Day under the “Har Ghar Tiranga 2026” campaign at Gurseva Group of Nursing College, Panam (Garhshankar). The seminar organized on this occasion was presided over by Dr. Jasvir Kaur (Principal).
On this occasion, S. Chaman Singh, Project Director, while addressing the students of the college, said that the “Drug-Free India Campaign” campaign was started on August 15, 2020. He shared information including statistics related to this campaign and said that our district and Punjab are also involved in this campaign.
He said that today school children and young boys and girls are also getting addicted to drugs in the country, the results of which are very terrible. Along with the youth who take drugs, their entire family and relatives are also affected, due to which the family becomes a victim of financial distress.
He appealed to all the students to never consume any drug. If they face any problem in their life, they can share their problem with their parents or teachers.
On this occasion, everyone participated respectfully during the singing of the national song “Vande Mataram”.
On this occasion, Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur, Councilor, while sharing information about the center, said that any person who is addicted to drugs can get free treatment by staying at the center for a month as per their wish.
Professor Akshita Ji thanked the team that came and assured that they will continue their cooperation to make the Drug-Free India campaign a success.
On this occasion, college staff members Kawaldeep Kaur, Kiran Bala, Narinder Kaur, Mahinder Sharma, Jatinder Kaur, Charanjit Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Harjit Gill and students were present.
