Ravinder Singh Brahmpura Expelled from Shiromani Akali Dals Primary Membership
Sri Goindwal Sahib/Tarn Taran:- Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has expelled Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, son of the late senior party leader Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and former MLA from the Khadoor Sahib constituency, from the party. Brahmpura has been removed from the party’s primary membership for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities for a long period. The development has also been reported by multiple news outlets based on the SAD’s statement.
According to the information, written complaints in this regard had been received from workers of the Khadoor Sahib constituency, while during the Punjab Bachao Rally held at Sri Goindwal Sahib on September 13, the local leadership had also jointly provided detailed information regarding what it described as conspiracies being carried out by Ravinder Singh Brahmpura against the party.
Badal said that party discipline would be maintained at all costs and that, after discussing the matter with senior party leaders, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura was expelled from the party’s primary membership for engaging in anti-party activities.
It is worth mentioning that after party president Sukhbir Singh Badal appointed Biba Ramandeep Kaur as the in-charge of the Khadoor Sahib constituency, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura had reportedly remained dissatisfied with the party and had continuously opposed Biba Ramandeep Kaur and Avtar Singh Billan Sheron. Following this, in a press note issued today, Shiromani Akali Dal chief spokesperson Dr Daljit Singh Cheema shared information about Ravinder Singh Brahmpura being removed from the party.
